JCOMM-5, Joint Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology 5th Session and Technical Conference (TECO)

JCOMM 5

JCOMM-5 will be held in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia from October 25th to 29th, 2017. Just before, the TECO “Toward an Integrated Met-ocean Monitoring, Forecasting and Services System” will be held on October 23rd to the 24th, 2017.

JCOMM, the JointJCOMM, the Joint Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology, Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology, is an intergovernmental body of technical experts that provides a mechanism for international coordination of oceanographic and marine meteorological observing, data management and services, combining the expertise, technologies and capacity building capabilities of the meteorological and oceanographic communities. There is a general recognition that worldwide improvements in coordination and efficiency may be achieved by combining the expertise and technological capabilities of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC), hence the creation of this Joint Commission.

Worldwide marine meteorological and oceanographic communities are working in partnership under the umbrella of the WMO-IOC Joint Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology, in order to respond to interdisciplinary requirements for met/ocean observations, data management and service products.

The fifth session of the Joint WMO-IOC Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology (JCOMM-5) will be held in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia from Wednesday 25 to Sunday 29 October 2017 at the Patra Bali hotel. Participants are invited to register online.
