Mercator Ocean is the French center for oceanographic analysis and forecasting.
Its expertise is based on the global ocean oceanographic products. Mercator Ocean delivers on-request services each week, everywhere in the world, in real-time or in delayed mode: regularly updated oceanographic forecasting permanent service, punctual service for a period in the past or in the future, data interpretation, support to define needs, maps ad hoc, or online oceanographic bulletin.
The Mercator Ocean products are from numerical modelling systems and cover all oceans on Earth from the surface to the bottom, at horizontal resolutions from 1/36° to 1° according to geographical areas. They hold physical (currents, temperature, salinity…), ice and biogeochemistry parameters. Most of these parameters are available since the beginning of the 1990’s until today and up to 7 days forecast.
By contacting the Mercator Ocean Service Desk, you will get a team at your service for any of your domains of interest: marine resources, routing and marine safety, coastal and marine environment, ocean-atmosphere interactions, educational or pedagogical projects.
Mercator Ocean services are available to all. Terms and conditions differ among users and usage.
